Belca Soft Corporation is seeking a skilled Sr. Accountant / Controller.

Overview
Belca Soft Corporation, a dynamic and rapidly growing software-as-a-service company headquartered in Calgary with a subsidiary in Texas, USA, is seeking a skilled Sr Accountant / Controller. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in managing accounting and financial responsibilities across the United States and Canada. This role involves a wide range of tasks, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budgeting, internal control policies, and more.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct month-end activities for both US and Canadian entities, ensuring accuracy in financial statements and management reports, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Oversight of Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), fixed assets, and monitoring bank transactions alongside government remittances.
  • Issuance of invoices, processing of ACH and wire payments.
  • Collaboration with US and Canadian Tax accountants to maintain effective Transfer Pricing policies and ensure compliance with regulatory financial and tax requirements. Register for US Sales tax and file monthly.
  • Coordinate management reporting using Power BI, maintain budgets, analyze variances, and provide valuable insights through comprehensive analysis.
  • Continuously seek enhancements in cash-flow management, financial systems, and processes by engaging with consultants, tax accountants, and bank representatives.
  • Monitor budget and research variances.
  • Conduct Canadian payroll on a semi-monthly basis, issue T4 forms, manage dental and health benefits, and address employees’ queries professionally.
  • Demonstrate commitment to compliance with company policies and procedures, engaging in ad-hoc projects as required
Qualifications
  • Extensive accounting and finance experience, coupled with a drive for learning and success.
  • Profound understanding of accounting principles.
  • Proven expertise in Canadian compliance regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills and a commitment to reliability and responsibility as a team player.
  • Ability to adapt readily to change and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in the English language.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or equivalent.
  • CPA certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • 3+ years of hands-on accounting experience.
